Montreal is her source, its diverse cultural and linguistic traditions her heritage, and its musicians her counselors. A mixed-religion family background, a performing arts education including violin and theatre, extensive travel, fluency in three languages, years in internationally acclaimed choirs, and a heartfelt relationship with music and jazz in particular all contribute to her being, her values, and her way of life.

Monica’s passion for singing comes from a desire to connect with people in a universal language, break barriers between cultures, share creative ideas, and fully embrace the present moment. Her studies at McGill University in Jazz Voice Performance inaugurated her involvement in Montreal's jazz community and her work in jazz clubs, international luxury hotels, at private events, and at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2006 and 2008 has marked her professional experience to date.

2010 brings Monica to Mexico's Baja Peninsula as vocalist at the One and Only Palmilla luxury resort until May. Summer performances follow in Canada's British-Columbia with the Monica Shore Quartet.
