Monica embraces her eclectic musical upbringing and carries its influence with her; classical and jazz ensemble singing, Jewish melodies from her youth, and curiosity about other cultures and their languages and music.
Monica performs music of many styles ranging from the standard jazz repertoire to soul, funk, hip hop, electro, and a cappella, both as leader and back-up vocalist. She is a vibrant and charismatic performer, infused with an intimate and heartfelt relationship to the music. Her velvety, strong and soulful tone carries a certain mysteriousness that simultaneously draws in and soothes the listener, delivering melodies and improvising solos lyrically and adventurously with effortless precision.
Having collaborated with many groups as leader and back-vocalist, Monica is currently working on a solo project consisting of original material and arrangements.
